Dams demand continuous safety control for water resource management, hydroelectric power, and flood prevention. This study delves into the crucial aspect of initial validation for dam material properties, a fundamental step in guaranteeing the structural integrity of these vital infrastructures. The research focuses on a chute spillway structure comprised of concrete and granite. The methodology involves identifying dam materials, extracting samples through in-situ coring, and subjecting them to compression tests for mechanical property evaluation. Young's modulus calculations consider reinfor
This paper deals with an application of Tukey's max-stable processes to spatial risk measures. The spatial risk measures used here are risk measures constructed on the basis of normalized spatially aggregated loss. In its construction, this risk measure takes extreme risks into account. The measures we obtain offer greater flexibility in modeling spatial dependency structures. In this section, we examine the different properties.
Spatio-temporal geostatistical models are increasingly used in hydrology, particularly for river flow and precipitation forecasting. This study focuses on the space-time regression kriging of rainfall data in Burkina-Faso. Some fundamental aspects of spatio-temporal residual kriging are introduced. New results on the spatio-temporal model and its estimators are presented. Moreover, a practical aspect is proposed with spatial and temporal distribution of total rainfall amounts recorded in ten regions of Burkina-Faso.
In this paper, we propose and study some properties of a new family of distributions, namely the Generalized Truncated Weibull family of distributions (the GTW-X family). The new family is an generalisation of the Truncated-Weibull distributions (the TW-G family) discussed in Najarzadegan et al.,2017. It is observed that many properties of this new family are quite similar to those of TW-G family. Therfore this distribution can be used as a possible alternative to TW-G distributions, especially when the support of the distribution is not reduced to [0, 1]. We present a real life data set, w
An ergonomically based space-saving and multifunctional product for home users is presented in this project, which aims to promote natural sitting postures and to reduce the risk of musculoskeletal disorders. The furniture was constructed using Malaysian anthropometric measurements, and the measurements were selected according to its respective criterion of the anthropometric parameters. The desk height, seat height, depth and width of the chair are the main priority for anthropometric measurements. In the preference of natural sitting position with a low risk, RULA or Rapid upper limb assessm
